ABOUT US

Incorporated in 1978, the Danville Senior Action Center has always been located in the lower floor of the Danville United Methodist Church "on the Green", providing nutritious meals for seniors in the greater Danville area as well as opportunities for social interaction.

OUR MISSION STATEMENT:  To provide affordable, nutritional meals and socially interactive  and informative activities (educational, nutritional, and physical) primarily for persons age 60+ of any gender orientation, race or ethnic background, who may be veterans or who may have disabilities. We strive to support the independence, dignity, and self-worth of all older adults.

OUR CHEF

Chef Robert Walley was trained at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York, and worked in several restaurants and country clubs in New York and Connecticut.  After working in the kitchens of large meditation centers in Nova Scotia and Vermont, he thought he had retired, but found that he still had the desire to remain in the kitchen, and so came to the Danville meal site in October, 2019 to make meals for our seniors!   He welcomes requests as well as feedback, and strives to cater to special dietary needs. while creating meals that meet the federal nutritional guidelines for seniors.
